Steve Backus
Living on Whidbey Island, Steve Backus is the elder statesman of chainsaw sculpting. Son of a PNW tramp logger Steve has been carving for over 40 years. He organizes competitions, acts in TV commercials, and writes about his exploits with two memoirs available on Amazon, they are "You've Got to be Shitting Me" and "Carve or Starve". He reads Lord of the Flies every year and loves Cannery Row. A lovely gentleman with a curious mind and quick wit.
